How Do I Change My Blog's Banner

Are you new to blogging and finding it hard for you to change the banner attached to the theme of your blog ? or you are not satisfied with the title writeup design on your blog?

In this course I will be showing you how to change your blog banner and use your preferred banner style but, before diving into the steps procedure let's have a short definition of the term; banner.

WHAT IS A BANNER?

A banner is a long strip of cloth bearing a slogan or design, carried in a demonstration or procession or hung in a public place. However, with regards to the internet, it can be said to be a heading or advertisement appearing on a web page in the form of a bar, column or box. (google search)

Blog banners can also be said to be the featured photo displayed in a blog's header that supports the blog or passes a message to the blog visitors.  

There is not much talk related to placing a banner, but wherever your banner is displayed on your blog depends on where your blog's header widget is located in your blog layouts.

QUALITIES OF A BANNER

• A blog banner must be small in file size.
• A blog banner must have writeups or designs related to the blog.
• A blog banner must have a good design able to draw attention.
• A blog banner photo size should not exceed the size of the theme banner size.

• A Blog Banner Must Be Small In File Size:

A blog banner must have a small file in other to guarantee speedy loading of the blog. You can edit your banner to a small size using design apps or resize your banner to a smaller size(kb, Mb) with the help of your device to give your blog platform quality and fast loading when your URL is clicked on.

• A Blog Banner Must Have Writeups Or Design Related To The Blog:

Blog banners are to have good designs or writeups that give your blog visitors a hint of what your blog is all about e.g a tech blog can have a design of something modern or scientific tools or you can make a writeup that blends with the blog name.

• A Blog Banner Must Have A Good Design Able To Draw Attention:

Blog banners design is also a minor in the traffic tools of a blog, a good design can entice visitors to stay and read more from your blog because the good and quality look of your blog banner design must have made them see your blog on a high standard which has drawn their attention. The good standard of your blog banner design is also one of the reasons why your blog can be selected among others. 

• A Blog Banner Photo Size Should Not Exceed The Size Of The Theme Banner Size:

Blog banners should not be more than or lesser than the size stated on the theme header widget in other to ensure a good banner fitting for the blog. The size of a blog banner is sometimes written in the header widgets, you can download the banner that was on the theme when you downloaded it in other to know its size or make a search on the banner size of the theme implemented on your blog.

HOW TO CHANGE YOUR BLOG BANNER:

• STEP 1:  

Login to your blog's dashboard and select the blog you want to change its banner.

• STEP 2:

Click on the Layout option among others on the left side of the screen.

• STEP 3:

A display of all the widgets of your blog will appear on the right side of your screen and you are to click on the pen icon on the header widget.

• STEP 4:

You will be directed to a page displaying your blog's current banner or title and description. Mark the circle behind the uploaded image from the computer icon and click on the choose file icon that pops out.

 

• STEP 5:

You will be directed to your device file manager where you will be located and choose the photo to use as your blog banner then press the enter key of your system.

• After selecting the banner photo, you will be asked to choose from three options on how you want the newly uploaded banner to display. see the options meaning below.

1. Behind Title And Description:

Selecting this option is to place the banner at the back of the written title and description of your blog, it is mostly used with a good blank banner that needs a writeup to give it meaning.

      2. Instead Of Title And Description:  

This option removes the title and description writeup of the blog and replaces them with the selected banner.

     3.  Have Description Placed After Image:

To select from this option is to place your blog banner at the top while the blog description appears beneath the banner. note: only the banner and description without a title are displayed on this option.  

• STEP 6:

Click on the Save icon below the uploaded banner.

• STEP 7:

Click on the view blog option on your blogger dashboard in other to confirm the newly uploaded blog banner design.

   Note:

A blog banner can be in a static or animated image form depending on the choice of the blog owner. I
