HOW TO CHANGE YOUR BLOG'S THEME(Blogger)

Are you not comfortable using the theme on your blog for reasons known best to you? you have seen some awesome designs and features in other blogs, you want something like that but you do not know how to change a blog's theme because you are new to the blogging system.

I also found it difficult changing my blogger theme when I was a newbie to blogging until I made research over and over again like you reading this post until I got the knowledge of handling the process.

WHAT IS A THEME

According to computing, a theme can simply be defined as a visual pattern or collection of patterns that determines the look and feel of a graphic interface. 

However, according to the website definition, a theme is said to be the foundation for the complete design of a website. In other words, the theme is responsible for the full settings or arrangement of a blog's widgets, the theme you use on your blog determines where your blog's gadgets are located on your webpage and other features of your blog.

TYPES OF THEME

Blogger themes are of many types and are sometimes categorized based on topics, design, features etc. Blog themes are numerous that they can not be mentioned one after another but in this tutorial, I will be explaining the premium and free themes.

PREMIUM THEMES:

The premium themes are themes that a designer has control of its complete features and settings However, it is so because the web designer must have had access to the theme in exchange for some payments made. That is to say that a premium theme is not given for free.  

FREE THEMES:

A free theme is a theme that can be accessed and also is controlled by a web designer but with restrictions to some of its features because it is not paid for.

With the aforementioned write-up, you should be able to make a choice on the kind of theme you will want to apply to your blog. 

HOW TO CHANGE A BLOGGER THEME:

STEP 1:

Download the blogger theme you find deem fit for your blog, navigate the file in your device file manager, click on the file, select "extract all", choose the folder you want to extract the file into and on "extract".

STEP 2: Login into your blogger dashboard and select the blog you will make the changes on.

  STEP 3:

Click on the theme option on the left side of your blogger dashboard.

Click on the arrow facing downwards beside the customize icon.

STEP 5:

Select "restore" among the set of options that appears after the click on the dropdown menu icon.

Step 6:

Click on upload to choose from your device files.

STEP 7:

Open the folder where you have extracted the files of the theme into your device file manager, select the "XML FILE" among the others listed in the folder and click on the enter key of your keyboard.

You wait until you see a "restored theme" notification popup on the down left of your screen.

Click on the "view blog" option on your blogger dashboard to see the new look of your blog.
